What's in my Garage? Yamaha V-Star
Ridin across America
First, I would like to introducemyself, my name is Crystal Long and I live in the beautiful area of Marietta, Ohio on the West Virginia border. I had never rode a motorcycle until the Spring of 2009 when I got tired of guysriding crazy with me on the back! One night Igot off the back and said I have had enough, they asked does that mean you are never riding again? My answer was NO!!! I will get my own bike, and they all laughed.Well, in two days I bought a bike, in a week I had my permit, and within a month I had my license. Since then I have riden approximately 15k miles on some of the most beautiful roads in WV and Ohio. Wish I would have know of this site earlier to sharethose rides with you, but sure I will be in the future.
I am riding across the USA in hopes to raise money thru pledges for PFC Kyle Hockenberry who was wounded in Afghanistain. He has suffered theloss ofboth legs, one arm and many more injuries. The family is staying by his side in Texas to help him on this long journey to recovery. I am hoping to help them pay for this costly expense. This ride is scheduled to begin between July 23-25, depending on the weather.
As I make this trip, I plan to share my experience as I find access to computers. So check back soon for my updates. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Ride Safe my biker friends!!!

great job on getting your own bike, learning to ride and now helping a wounded friend. You are making a difference in people's lives in a very positive way.
i've been riding since 1967, have no way of knowing how many miles I've ridden, but have not done as much good as you have. let me know if your travels ever take you to Wisconsin-I

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
