Old for a beginner

My good friend Mando has loved and ridden motorcycles all of his adult life. He used to own a 1999 Honda Shadow 750 Ace and a 2003 Silver Wing Scooter. For over two years he tried to sell me the Shadow so we could ride together. In 2012 at the age of 67 I gave in and bought his Shadow.

After a couple trips to Americade and the Dragon on the Shadow, I wanted a touring motorcycle. Consequently, I bought a 2005 BMW R1200rt. Great bike, but tall for this short, senior citizen. In the mean time (2014) Mando bought a new 2010 Honda NT700v from a dealer in Wisconsin. I fell in love with the size and handling of his NT. A year later I found a similar NT with 873 miles. The original owner had bought it new in 2011 and had never had it out of his home town.

BY 2015, I had three motorcycles.

Since then, the BMW has had lowering shocks and a special seat installed. I am now flatfooted on the BMW as I am on the NT. Since I wasn't riding the Shadow, I recently sold it.
