What's in my Garage? 2015 Harley Ultra Classic 2013 CanAm Spyder. 2014 Vstrom 650 2005 DRZ400

Hi there

I have a 2015 Ultra, traded the 1996 Ultra in. My wife rides a 2013 Spyder. Just recently acquired a Suzuki Vstrom 1000 from the wife for Valentines. I liked the Vstrom well enough, I decided to purchase a new one. Traded the older one in on a new Strom 650. We enjoy riding and we try to take several 3-4 day trips quite often. I enjoy fishing and hunting. My favorite thing is riding motorcycles. Destination is usually not too important. The main thing is that we are riding. I have been riding since I was 15. I have rode metric most of my life, finally in 09 I got my first Harley then a 2015 Ultra. Starting to get into the advrider type of riding, so we acquired a Strom. The Strom should be an interesting bike. I have logged many many miles over the years. I've now owned 18 bikes over the yrs. I really like the new Harley's. I have almost 19K on the Ultra now and hope to put many on the Strom. Hope everyone has as much fun riding as we do. Lots of things to see in Texas alone. Some of my favorite rides are in SW Texas in the Big Bend area, SE New Mexico, the hill country in Texas and SE Oklahoma up into the Ozarks in Arkansas. I have to add Colorado after last years trip. Adding the Strom will enable me take off the beaten path trips in Colorado and New Mexico and see things where I probably would not have taken the Ultra.

I have a little over 18K on the Ultra now. It has been a good machine. Very comfortable bike. Since I traded the older Strom for a new one, I have been surprised by the 650. There is much to like about the smaller Vstrom 650. The 650 was a left over with zero miles, still on the showroom floor. Got a real good deal on the bike.

Recently acquired a DRZ to sort of get back into dirt riding again. In my early years, we would spend a good of of time on weekends riding at some motorcycle parks such as the Flying P. I want to practice some and maybe try an enduro race or two. Not nearly as young as I used to be. That kind of riding is always fun.

Getting ready to ride part of the NMBDR next week on Memorial Day 2018. For this trip, I have been setting the Strom up for the trip. It will be challenging and test my riding skills quite a bit. I have been wanting to take a ride like this for a while. The videos of the NMBDR reflect on a fun week ahead.

OpenRoadRider,
Thanks for the comment. I really enjoy riding but I wish I could put the miles on that many on this site and others put on their bikes each year. Some take some amazing trips each year.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
