AUTHOR'S DESCRIPTION:
This is a great cruise from Richmond, VA out to the Blue Ridge Pkwy. It goes along Route 60, past Amherst and Oronoco, up to the BRP, then north along BRP to Afton Mt. But instead of taking I-64 back, head back down Route 151 past Wintergreen Ski area to Route 6. Then take Route 6 all the way back to Richmond.

This is a good ride. If you done it once, next time try rt 6 to 29, and then down 29 a few miles to Lovingston. Take Route 56 back to 60 and 60 to Richmond. Route 56 is a good, twisty, scenic road.

Nice trip. We completed this one on July 3, 2010. Be sure to stop at the visitor's center on the parkway to see the old settlement with house, barns, etc.
