Twisty Fun - SR 92 through the Mountains

This was a great late summer ride. The canyon colors are just beginning to change. The mountains made a great escape from the city. The beginning of the route was on a nice 2 lane highway. The river ran along the road with lots of nice areas to pull over and stretch. As the route passes the campground, the road narrows to a single lane. Lots of hairpin turns, steep grade and lots of traffic (cars, joggers, mountain bikers and motorcycles). Roadway could be a bit tricky for novice riders. Other riders have told us that it is a very slick road after the autumn leaves fall or after a light rain shower. This ride is well worth your time, take a lunch and enjoy the spectacular views!
