AUTHOR'S DESCRIPTION:
This a great day's run if you get an early start. Some spectacular scenery along rte 73.Tracy road and CR 4 provide great entertainment for all who enjoy twisty roads. Around Brant Lake is another twisty stretch that I found exciting. From there to rte 86 near the end of the day was mostly sweepers and straight roads but rte 86 was on par with Tracy road and CR 4.There are plenty of photo opportunities along this route so take your camera. On this run I wore out a set of wear nuts on the bottom of the floorboards of my '07 C 50 Boulevard.
Next year I plan on spending about a week in Adirondack Park exploring the roads that I haven't driven on yet as well as retracing some of my former routes (Tracy Rd , CR 4 , Rte 86 to name a few)

Did this trip in 2008. Only reason I would not give it a "5" is everytime we stopped to take a photo the nat's ate us alive.(June '08). Suggest when you get close to Vermont, take the ferry accross the lake. Loved the ride and got a "Fort Ti" t-shirt. B/sure to stop in Lake Placid and soak up some of the sites and eatings-top notch, slightly expensive. Spent several nites at the Shamrock Motel on Twin Lakes and it was first class. We plan on doing this again but probably in September next time

Instead of taking rte 186 from rte 30 to rte 86 near Saranac Lake try taking co highway 18 from rte 30 to rte 3 near Saranac Lake. From reports that I have read this is supposed to be an extremely twisty road. I wish I had seen this report before we travelled the stretch that we did
