AUTHOR'S DESCRIPTION:
Variation 2 of Afternoon Jamul Mountain Trip 1. Much shorter in time, just under an hour. First half of Lyons Valley Road speed ranges based on skill level from 10 mph in the tight hairpin turns through 30 - 40 mph in most turns and your descretion in the straight aways. The left onto Skyline Truck Road allows you to open it up. Caution of a Firestation on the right side while on Skyline, other than this, your speed and the bike is the only limit. Any style of bike and rider can enjoy these variations, recommend taking it slow the first time, to scope out an debris along the cliffs, since there is little traffic to keep the roads spotless. Enjoy. Great views in the valleys of these southern mountains, just dont' stare too long, you may miss the turns! There is a small pull off spot at the top of the mountain, after the firestation, before you get to Lawson Valley Road if you did want to stop for a few for the view.
