AUTHOR'S DESCRIPTION:
This is a nice 1/2 day trip that you can start anywhere on the loop. I happen to live in Bailey, CO so that was my start point.

The route includes 3 mountain passes including Eisenhouser Tunnel at 11,000+ elevation so be prepared for cold weather. I took this trip on June 14th and still ran into a snowstorm on Hwy 9 between Fairplay and Breckenridge.

Started at 9:00 am and took a lunch break in Dillon, CO to eat and warm up after riding in the snow. Got back home at 2:00 pm so with the lunch break spent about 5 hours on the trip. Very enjoyable ride and very enjoyable mountain scenery. Enjoy.

This gets 4 stars for the scenry but I would take 40 north to Winter Park and west to 9, south back to 70 and continue the circle. That would rate 5 stars.

My wife and I love this ride and do it several times a year. You must be prepared for all types of weather any given month.

We stop in Breckenridge for lunch for more options and a chance for the wife to shop.
