AUTHOR'S DESCRIPTION:
OK, for those folks who RIDE this is a two day route BUT 3 days would give you more time for sightseeing, etc. Your call.

Want some serious scenery and TWISTIES that all end up at a replica of Stonehenge and camping overlooking the mighty Columbia River? Here ya go! This route takes you to Windy Ridge Viewpoint on the EAST side of Mt. St. Helens (a dream ride for sport bikers). Then down more twisties and scenery to Goldendale and the Stonehenge Replica Monument. Stay overnight at Maryhill State Park for incredible views of the Columbia Gorge and a night sky to die for. Up early and cross over to the Oregon side of the Columbia River along I-84 to make up some time (watch for super windy riding conditions... seriously!). Hood River is the place Wind Surfers from all over the world come to because of the HIGH winds. Head West on I-84 and get off to ride the Historic Columbia River Highway riding on some cool old roads and waterfalls everywhere! Take a break at Crown Point to view the Gorge then continue West along this old road to Troutdale. From there it's full speed ahead as you'll be on Interstate roads the rest of the way back toward Seattle. I-5 has 70 mph most of the way and if you're not doing 80 mph you'll be passed continuously! This is the return segment where you make up the time. Lots of slow twisty roads going down but fast Interstate for the return! Very good mix of scenery, roads and speeds. Another MUST DO route :)
