North Carolina Motorcycle Rides and Roads

North Carolina motorcycle trips are an unmatched treat. Riders can enjoy North Carolina motorcycle rides through lightly twisting mountain roads with beautiful vistas. Unlike many other states, North Carolinas' best motorcycle routes have reasonable speed limits so you can really enjoy your ride without holding back too much. If you love picturesque little towns and incredible state parks, you will also love riding in this state.

After spending a few days exploring the areas surrounding the Smoky Mountains, you will understand why so many champion racers come from this area. The motorcycle routes in North Carolina are spectacular, and anyone cutting their teeth on these roads is almost certain to grow up to be a master.

The Cherohala Skyway is one of the most scenic motorcycle rides in the country much less in North Carolina. It meanders through mountains for a total elevation change of 4,000 feet. Some parts of the Skyway are over 5,000 feet in elevation which can create cold riding conditions, and some of the downhill turns can be tricky. Some people even say that the Skyway is more dangerous than the Tail of the Dragon, another one of the must-see North Carolina motorcycle routes.

The Tail of the Dragon is eleven miles of fast paced turns, and many people say it is one of the windiest motorcycle roads in the country. Whether you want to take a road like the Tail of the Dragon or a lesser known path like Highway 28, riding in North Carolina is a treat.
