This is the route we take once a year to head to the heart of the hill Country. Take a day down, spend a day running the Three sisters (335,336 and 337)then a day back home. A lot of good stops on the way. Kerville is were we stay(The Whitten Inn) It is centralized for alot to see, Fredericksburg, Leakey,(www.friocanyonmotorcyclestop.biz) the best Motorcycle stop I have been to, two state parks Garner and Old Tunnel Wildlife Management Area (http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/newsmedia/releases/?req=20040628b. A lot of nice swimming holes on the 3 sister so bring swim trunks.

For the novice rider this wasn't a bad ride just straight and smooth. Our group rode from Crowley down to Comanche, then down 16 to Llano and into Austin. The next day we went thru the enchanted rock park, back up 16 to 580, then hit 581, 1690, 932, 22 then 174. That ride was twisted and hilly and much more interesting. 16 is a good place to start though

This route is a very nice lumbering route. I have made it on two occasions and will warn you about the dear. this area is heavy with dear counted 12 one day thay had been hit the night before on the side of the road. Enjoy this road it is a smooth asphalt with a shoulder most of the route. and several historic markers and rest areas along the way.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
