This is the Web Riders 5th. Annual 'Mystery Trip'. A trip that I put together and everyone else just sends me a check for their lodging and then follows me to where ever I take them. Add another town that doesn't particularly want us back!! LOL

Great country riding out of central Florida through the horse farms of Ocala into north Florida. This route will take you by the Evinston community store and post office, created in 1884, also near the homesite of Marjorie Kinan Rawlings, author of The Yearling.

Next will be a couple of state prisons in the Starke/Raiford area. Next is the neat little town of Folkston, Ga., 'Gateway to the Okefenokee Swamp', as is their claim to fame! Then on thru some some se ga. forested area to the coast and barrier islands area.
There is a lot of great restaurants and pubs(went to them all) in the historic downtown are and pier of St Simons. All within walking distance of a few great places to stay.
Be sure to take the St Simons trolley Tour. The owner's name is 'Bunny'. She is a true southern bell!!
See and hear over 400 years of history and folklore, on the Original Trolley Tour! 'Bunny is the one woman in town whom every tourist should see and every local knows by name. The St. Simons Trolley is truly the only way to experience all the island has to offer in history and culture.' - Southern Distinction Magazine From the moment you board the St. Simons Trolley and Bunny passes out the peach candy saying 'First I sweeten you up, then I take your money,' you know this is going to be something special. Since 1992, the St. Simons Trolley Company has conducted the original and definitive tour of St. Simons Island. Exuding Southern charm, this genuine Southern Belle provides a hilarously funny, yet well informed narrative of life in the Old South.

The drive-by includes the Lighthouse, one of only three working lighthouses in Georgia; Bloody Marsh, site of the famous 1742 battle where the fate of the Southern Colonies was decided; Fort Frederica, the colonial town and fort settled by General James Edward Oglethorpe; Retreat Plantation, where relics from the slavery era still exist, and this is the only trolley tour on St Simons Island that takes you inside historic Christ Church.

You will truly enjoy the entertaining and informative narrative of 400 years of island history and folklore as you ride along in the Original Vintage Green Trolley. We also point out the best places to eat, shop, and play. It's the perfect way to see and experience island life while getting a good overview of the entire island.

The St. Simons Trolley tour is one of the most acclaimed in the South. To enjoy the island in true southern fashion, join us on the St. Simons Trolley.
