I put another route on here earlier this summer before riding the 1806. This route, I feel, is even more fun and scenic of a ride than the other Central Eastern SD day ride route. Both have their benefits and are worth riding, but the 1806 is probably one of the best if not the best roads in SD east of the Black Hills. It follows the river and has MANY turns and scenic bluffs/hills overlooking the river. After we rode it, we stopped and my brother in law took off his helmet and said, 'Now THAT was a fun ride!' It took us from 9:15 am to 4:45 pm with lunch and a stop at the motorcycle dealer in Pierre. Make sure you fill up in Pierre and Ft. Thompson. A very nice day ride with almost every view you could imagine. Would also be a good route if riding out to the Blcak Hills, but I would just drop down on 47/34 and take the 1806 to Pierre on your way to the Hills. Enjoy!
