A totally breathtaking ride going through Sonora Pass. Quite a few old mining towns along the way. Colombia was a nice stop to taste a bit of the old west. The pass was 80% downhill with numerous steep grades and switchbacks that can be somewhat intimidating. I do remember seeing a grade of 26% at one time. Be aware while on the pass since there are several patches of loose gravel and rock along the turns. When finally out of the pass, it becomes a nice and gentle ride with wide open road within the bottom part of the valley. If you are in the mood for a burger, there is a small burger stand in Walker. Not bad, kinda overpriced and we waited a good 45 minutes for our food which is not good since it was getting dark. The ride into Yerington and Fallon, could not remember much since it was dark and extremly windy. After reaching the town of Smith, along the road, it actually cuts through steep hills on both sides of the road, I could make out the sillouetts just after the sunset. Have fun, it is a great ride!!
