start out in bloomfield (keep your camera close)there are 2 breakfast restaurants and a bakery, a quarter car wash and an atm. several gas stations, there's also 2 carhart stores and a couple of campgrounds. bloomfield is home to about 12 antique shops w/i 5 miles of town. your going to travel east on 444 for 2 miles it deadends into route 5&20 turn left. stay on 5 & 20 for 3 miles (1st light) turn right on route 64 s. stay on 64 until you reach naples. wave at my old house and my ex wife (number of fingers optional). naples is a quaint turn of the century town. plenty of touresty things to do. (wine tours, local museum etc). south out of town on route 53 go approx 4 miles. left on italy turnpike (italy hill rd), pick up 54a near branchport towards penn yan. continue on 54a (54) to dresden, pick up rt 14 s. towards watkins glen. plan to spend some time in the glen. (if you haven't taken 25 pictures buy now shame on you). @ the glen you can hike up and down (or cheat like us old folk and take the bus up and hike down). there's a public pool at the top. you can also visit the raceway. back in town there are shops, restaurants, bars and boat tours, including sunset dinner tours. plenty of campgrounds and motels. leave town via 414 n. again keep your camera ready. caution: there are tons of wineries with tasting rooms the next 35 miles. on the northern end of ovid turn left on 96a towards geneva. you'll pass the old army base, there are hundreds of albino dear there. sampson state park is good for camping and fishing. 96a will deadend into 5 & 20 at geneva, turn left. you'll take it all the way back to bloomfield. canandagua (approx10 miles before bloomfied) is the county seat. lots of things to do. (lake, shopping, art gallery, mansion tour. back in bloomfield i'd suggest either cheap charlies or fandangos. food is good at charlies, fandangos is a biker bar w/ live entertainment on weekends. if you collect tee shirts. you'll be near 2 harley dealers and pass 1. ithica has one approx 20 miles east of watkins glen, corning 30 mi sw of watkins glen (also the corning plant is a great tour). and you'll pass geneva hd on 5 & 20. sorry ionly have pix of bloomfield and cananduagua.
