Wisconsin has some excellant scenic routes, a lot of them around lakes. This is the largest lake in Wisconsin and I believe the largest inland lake in the U.S.
This is a very scenic route through some rolling hills, flat land, small towns and mostly farm country. Well, I guess that's about all of Wisconsin, farm country. But there is nothing better than the 'good fresh country air' that is if your a country boy. The city folks can't appreciate what memories that can bring back, course a lot of them don't realize where milk comes from either.
Take the time to stop in Brotherstown, Stockbridge, Fond du Lac and see some real interesting sites.
If your a racing fan the Wisconsin Internation Raceway isn't far off the path on Hwy KK which you will find by followng 55 North and then make a right on KK.
There are many parks along the lake front which offer fantastic places to stop for a cookout or any of the local pubs offer good eats.
Going up 55 on the East side of the lake watch for High Cliff State Park, this is well worth the time to vist.
For baseball/softball fans your not to far from Kimberly where the National Softball tournaments are held about every three years. Again, this is only a short hop from the lake, about eight miles on Hwy N off of Hwy 10 coming out of Stockbridge.
When you get on the West side of the lake in the Oshkosh area (Menominee Park) watch for signs of boat races, during the summer it is common for the clubs to be racing in this area.
There are numerous things to do and see in this area and a vacation here would not be a waste of time.
