The journey begins in Monroe. Heading east on Hwy 2 take a left onto Woods Creek Road. Be aware that Woods Creek Road continues off as a side road. If you pass by Salem Woods Elemtary School, you missed the turn! Go back! Follow Woods Creek and then take a right onto Lake Rosiger Road. Lake Rosigner Road turn into Menzal Lake Road. Follow Menzal Lake Road into Granite Falls.Heading east on Hwy 92, take a right onto Jordan Road. Along the way is the Jordan Road River Bridge park which has a foot bridge spanning the river. It's a good stopping point. At Arlington Heights Road take a right and follow it till it tees into Jim Creek Road. From there you take a left and that will bring you to Hwy 530.Take a right and head east on 530 to Darrington. Hwy 530 is a gorgeous ride with sweeping curves and the scenery of the mountains. Continue through Darrington on Hwy 530 to about mile marker 61. From there abouts, you need to take a left onto the Concrete-Sauk Valley Road. The Concrete-Sauk Valley Road is a very twisty road which follows the river. As you approach the town of Concrete, take a left onto the South Skagit Highway. Continue following the river and then connect to Hwy 9 and head south.Highway 9 will take you back to Hwy 2. Head east and you will be back in Monroe.Talk about a fun ride!

Did this ride on Memorial Day weekend 2102. Apart from a few driver-caused wrong turns it was an enjoyable ride. Very little traffic once I got past Darrington. The towns are spaced apart enough so you can stop and get snacks, or food and drinks. If you start in Monroe, have breakfast at Patty's Eggnest. It's located in the shopping plaza just as you turn left off of Hiway 2 onto Woods Creek Rd to start the trip. Great chicken fried steak.
