Beckley to Petersburg WV

If you ever ride West Virginia, this is one of the most scenic, not well known rides in the state. Believe it or not, the Governor of the State of West Virginia recommended this route! I started in Beckley and headed north on Hwy 19, crossed New River Gorge, and rode east on Hwy 60. Hwy 60 is a nice hilly and twisty ride with several nice villages that you ride through. Hop on I-64 for a short sprint to Hwy 219 at Lewisburg and fill up that gas tank. Head north on Hwy 219 to Anthony Station rd and follow it east to the Greenbrier river. We stopped on the bridge to admire the view and did not have a car pass us for 45 minutes! This road is very scenic, narrow, and twisty. Have fun but be careful. Continue east until you turn north on Hwy 92. Follow Hwy 92/Hwy 28 all the way to Petersburg, there are few gas stops or anything else along this road. You will ride along the west side of the West Virginia - Virginia border through beautiful valleys and rolling farmland. Be sure to stop at Hermitage Motor Inn in Petersburg for lodging, food, or refreshments. This is an extremely 'Biker Friendly' establishment and deserves your patronage...Enjoy the ride
