start out at the belvidere park - corner of w. lincoln and appleton. travel n. to rt 76. left on 76 towards clinton wi. on that corner is the boone co. fairgrounds. in addition to the fair there are many classic car weekends. continue n. into wi (rt becomes 140. (wear your kiney belt thru downtown clinton. 140 dead ends into 14, west on 14. to bypass janesvill take 39/90 s. 1 exit and west on rt 11. janesville has triumph, harley and all 4 japanese bike dealers. continue on to monroe area, exit right on rt 69 (north) to new glarus. also monroe is a nice little town plenty of bars, rest and specialty shops in the square. i like baumgardeners. new glarus is the home of the new glarus brewery and TASTING ROOM. free tours and tasting. take 39 west up the hill to mineral point. mineral pt. has an old town section that was built in the 1700's. next we're gonna take 23 south to rt 11, right on 11 to shullsburg. then take o south to w west to the town of new diggens (and i use the term town loosely) 20 houses, 2 bars and 1 church. i like antons on the n side of the street best. piano player, singalongs, requests etc. continue on w west to 84 south to galena. galena is an old stagecoach stop from 1700/1800's lost of cool old homes, shops, bars, restaurants, hotels, b&b's. also home of ulysis s grant. (just before town is wilwerts harley on left behind mcdonalds) after leaving galena on 20 east (stage coach trail). we're gonna stay on the trail for a while thru warren, nora, (nora bar has the knarley burger - 1 # ground beef - good luck with that). lena, cedarville. there is a zig zag after cedarville, when the rd dead ends - zig left for 100 feet and zag right. approx 8 miles later right on pecatonica rd south. continue to rt 20, left (east) on 20 follow 20 towards belvidere, chicago. exit last exit before toll, harrison rd. east on harrison (bypass 20) to appleton rd, exit appleton rd just past chrysler plant. north on appleton to belvidere park.
