This is a great day trip for those riders who are 'stuck' on Long Island in five boroughs of NYC. The ride unfolds as you head north on the Palisades Parkway. The roads comfortable and then you get to Route 218 near West Point. This little stretch of road has it all...elevation change, twisties, and scenic views with an overlook at the top of the ride.
Continue north on Route 218/9W and cross the Hudson River over the Mid-Hudson Bridge to Poughkeepsie. Route 44 takes you east and through farm country and then Routes 83 and 82A take you on sweeping and twisty roads with breathtaking views of New York State's horse country.

From Pine Plains, it's a short 10 or 12 miles to Millerton, NY where you have to stop for breakfast/lunch at Irving Farms Coffee House. Route 22 south is a nice road and takes you to Brewster where you can pick up I-84 or I-684 for the return back to the rat race.

Enjoy the ride. A 'must ride' during Fall Foliage!

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
