I found this while Google searching 'bike rides in VT' The whole ride in the mountain gaps of VT can take an afternoon, all day or a weekend if you are not from the area. Beautiful scenery with lakes, waterfalls and naturally mountains. The roads are not perfect w/some pretty serious heaves but at 40 - 45 they are not bad. Elevation changes up to approx 3000' makes it nice and some nice twisting back roads makes this one of the best riding areas in New England. Plenty of country roadside eaterys and rest areas. Overnight lodging is NOT plentiful and some planning ahead might be a good idea
