Heading out of Redlands on the 38 toward Big Bear this is a nice mountain ride with plenty of twists and turns to keep you happy. Beautiful places to stop and take in the view, if that's your thing. Head up into Big Bear and enjoy all that the mountain town has to offer. Once you've fueled up and filled the human gas tank as well, continue on the 38 until you meet up with the 18 and through Running Springs and Sky Forest and into Arowhead Village. Do a little browsing through the shops. When you are ready, head out of Arrowhead and do the Rim of the World highway loop. Go back through Sky Forest and Running Springs and pick up the 330 down into Highland. You can take surface roads or the new 210/30 back to Redlands. I highly recommend stopping for a hearty bite at the Millcreek Cattle Co. in Mentone.

This is a really nice ride when it's 105 degrees down in the valley. The section of 38 from Mentone up to Big Bear is one of my favorite local roads. Stop in Big Bear for lunch at the Peppercorn Grill. I've never been disappointed with a meal there.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
