This is a nice scenic trip to Starved Rock are of Illinois. Travel down two lane country roads(all paved), following long parts of the Fox River to the Illinois River. Several stops can be made along the way including The Last Chance Saloon, in Millington, and several pubs in Utica. Utica is a bikers haven and most weekends during the summer, the streets are loaded w/bikers. Starved Rock State Park offers a retreat to stop and see the beauty of Illinois' River Valley. Miles of hiking trails and lots of waterfalls. This is a favorite of mine and my wifes when we want to get away for lunch. Especially beautiful in the fall when the leaves change colors.

When you get down to Starved Rock area, do the Starved Rock Run directions. That’s probably the best part of the trip

Since I submitted the ride, I thought I should be the first to rate it. It is a nice short ride(distance) that can take the whole day to accomplish. For my wife and I it is actually a round trip back to our house so it is a 120 mile ride.
