One of the best and most scenic routes in the US. During the summer there are lots of cars and RVs on the road. The spring and fall are the best times to hit this route.

I am blessed to live only a few miles from the parkway and I ride it often. No stop signs, traffic lights, and the speed limit is only 45 mph. Perfect for taking your time and seeing the sights. Besides the breath-taking mountain views, you some great hiking trails, visitor's centers (I recommend the new Discovery Center just North of the US 74 exit)and local sights (you can see the Biltmore Estate from the road). Some of the scenic overlooks have grills for cookouts! I am planning a trip this year to travel the Parkway from Cherokee up to Virginia and the Skyline Drive. Can't wait!

Great road - only down side is it can get a little crowded through parts (not bad) and the speed limit is only 45mph.

Well worth it though.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
