Blue Ridge to HWY 74
- Distance: 174 miles / 280.0 km
- Ride Time: 2-4 hours
- Approximate Fuel Costs: $13.22
- States Visited: North Carolina, South Carolina
This route starts at the Blue Ridge Parkway and the French Broad River over look site. This route is filled with beautiful sceanery so take a camera if you want to capture the memories of this wonderful ride. Blue Ridge portion is pretty steady ride not to many twisties on the south route, but watch your speed this portion of the route is patrolled heavily and the limit is only 45mph. Once you get to HWY 74, that is where the fun begins. It is filled with deep winding curves that any rider will appreciate. You will pass through several small towns that are great stopping points for the traveling biker. This route actually ends at Lake Lure but my ride continued back to my home state of South Carolina, which is not the most exciting ride, so the roads mapped out after the Lake are not part of the ride.
