A short day trip along the Fraser River in British Columbia's Lower Fraser Valley. This ride features a 20 km ride up the Cascade Falls Road up a twisty, quiet, road winding back up the valley floor into the Coast Mountain Range. The Main portion passes through Historic Fort Langley. Start out by crossing the Fraser River at the Albion Ferry. Proceed east along the Highway 7. Views of the Fraser River and Mount Baker to the east will distract you along this pleasant two lane highway. East of Mission you will pass the little resort at Hatzic lake. Turn North at the Husky gas station just east of Hatzic. The signs are marked Cascade Falls Regional Park. From here 15km of twisty two lane road take you up the valley floor towards the coast mountains. You'll be tempted to glance at 'The Lions', snowy peaks north of Vancouver. or the glacier fed creek beds as they flash by. At the end of the road aparking lot and trail lead up to Cascade Falls Park (no services). The return crosses the Fraser at Mission and retraces the river along it's south bank through pleasant farmland back to Fort Langley. Stop for coffee or Ice Cream in one of the many cafe's. All in all a very pleasant hidden treasure nestled in the mountains.

Update: The free Albion Ferry is gone, replaced by a toll bridge. An alternate route is to cross at either the Port Mann bridge in Surrey and catching Hwy 7/Loughheed or crossing at the Mission Bridge.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
