Cascade Mountain Loop can be done starting usually sometime in May and through October. The North Cascade Highway is closed in winter.The route takes you through some of the best parts of the Cascade Mountains from wet side to dry side. It can be done in a day but a weekend is more relaxed as it's about a 450 mile loop. It can of course be done in either direction. There are many areas on the North Cascade Highway were one can stop and do a day hike...or overnight if desired.
