Kahneeta casino run
The end of the riding season was closing in on us, so a few of us got together for one last run of the season. This is actually a repeat of the idea that was born at the end of last years riding season.
We wanted to go on an overnighter. Some place that had most anything that anybody could want. Kahneeta resort and casino outside warm spring Oregon. It has food, liqour, gamling, entertainment, scenary and a clean place to sleep or camp. Your choice. The best part is that you don't have to drive all over to get it. It's all in one spot.
It is also a good way to treat yourself.

After running down the freeway to Vancouver Wa we turned east towards Mt Hood. These roads are your typical mountain curves and hills. The roads are wide enough and well maintained which makes it easy to look at the scenery along with plenty of turn outs.

After passing by Mt Hood we leveled out onto flat forest roads until we came out into some high country desert. From here gas stations are spread out but within traveling distance provided that you get you fuel at the last stop.

The drive into Kahneeta is about 14 miles from the intersection of Simnasho hot springs road and warm springs road. Remember the gas station at that intersection. If you leave the north there are 'no' gas stations between there and the Dalles Oregon. About 130 to 140 miles with a high pass in between.

Be cautious in these types of areas. It is open range area. Not to sound arrogant but to those may not have heard that phrase, it means that horses and cows running free where ever and when ever they want to.

You have to admit that as you approach the casino out in the middle of no where it looks out of place.

Sunrise from our room. I was up way to early to take this picture after a night of fun, but is was worth it.

On the noth side of the Bridge of the gods there is a turn out lot. I was exploring the woods (yeah right) when I came accross this old grave. Some internet research found that it was the site of a massacre.
