East on US 76 out of Clayton. About 8-9 miles out you will cross into SC as you are crossing the Chatooga River. You can park here and walk down to see Bull Sluice Rapids and watch the river rats try to navigate thru what I was told as one of the toughest portions of the river.

A couple more miles down you will turn left on Chatooga Ridge Road, this road will sometimes have potholes, as it is made of the tar/gravel type, but mostly a good road.

About 5 miles after turning onto SC 28, you will come to Russell Farmstead. A Civil War era farm that was used as a stoppping point for travelers. They used to have dozens of guest everynight during the summer time. Main house has since burnt down, but there are a lot of out building and it's free!

Run on into Highlands, stop, look around, shopping etc. There is a sandwich shop on the left side as you are going out of town, I can't remember the name, but if you are hungry, it's worth the stop. Don't be surprised when some guy starts giving you a hard time! He's the owner and it is part of the act. Food is really good. Place is usually very crowded.

After you get on Sr 106 you wil come to 2 or 3 overlooks with great views.

Turning south on US 441 you will pass something you may want to take a picture of, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School on your right(be prepared to impressed).

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
