This will be a route in which to make sure you have your camera with you. Not a real technical ride but scenic and tranquil for the most part with a couple charming typical southern towns. The first area you come to is Tallulah Falls and Tallulah Gorge. See for complete info.

Along a lonely stretch of highway known as US 441, spanning the border between Habersham and Rabun counties sits Tallulah Gorge. In earlier times this gash in the earth's crust was the vacation destination for more people than any other place in the Southeast. The only visible evidence of the past splendor in the town of Tallulah Falls is the train depot, now converted to a storefront. Yet this splendor is still evident in the gorge. Ladore('L'eau d'or'), Tempesta, Hurricane, Oceana, Bridal Veil;the names of the falls on the Tallulah River are a litany to those who love the outdoors, so beautiful they were nicknamed 'Niagara of the South.'

Next you will come to Clarkesville, founded in 1823, and still many mid 19th century homes and buildings still standing. When you ride in to the town square, you get a feel for that southern small town flair.

Next comes Cleveland and the 'Cabbage Patch Babyland General Hospital'! Yeah that's right the Cabbage Patch Kids are atill alive and well in Cleveland, Ga.!!!

Just north of Cleveland take Alt. 75 north to SR 75/17. Turn then left on Hwy. 356 thru the Unicoi State Park. An alternate to this is after turning onto SR 75/17 to continue into Helen for a rest stop before continuing.

It will be more about the ride, the rest of the ay back to Clayton.
