Friday afternoon ride started in Land O' Lakes and followed the same route as last year so i did not post it. Only difference this year is it was dark by the time we got to St. Cloud and crossing Nova Road(CR 532) in the dark is not what you really want to do! It is a VERY deserted area with lots of wildlife, but we made it to Cocoa Beach anyway.
After a friday night at the Holiday Inn singing karaoke at the tiki bar next to the atlantic ocean, we were able to make it up for the sunrise portion of our trip, barely!

Headed nortrh on A1A with the morning sun and breeze in our face. Riding north and west crossing bridges for the Bennet Causeway, Courtenay Parkway and the Nasa Parkway eventually US 1 into Titusville, where we had breakfast at the Cafe Chocolat! Great food! And lots of chocolate stuff.

Headed north on Max Brewer Memorial Parkway(CR 406) across Indian River and onto Kennedy Parkway(SR 3) following along the boundaries of the Canaveral National Seashore.

After merging with US 1 we turn west onto Halifax Ave. which turns into Mayfield Road . This road was one of those jewels that you sometimes find, 25-30 miles of mostly tree caopied roads with some sweeping curves. A VERY nice road for this part of Florida.

At CR 415 you make a quick left then right on Enterprise/Osteen Road. Another nice find that eventually makes it's way along the east boundary of Lake Monroe.

After crossing I-4 and merging with US 17/92 we took a side trip out to Blue Springs Stae Park. Well worth the few miles out there. Beutiful springs yopu can swim in and a snack bar. Alittle traffic getting thru Deland until you get to Crows Bluff.

SR 42 is great road that borders the Ocala National forest with sweeping curves and a little elevation change all the way to Starkes Ferry. But this trip we take SR 42 only as far as Altoona and SR 19, then north thru the forest to Salt Springs, where we stopped for lunch at the Fork & Spoon Restaurant, a good little place to eat.

After lunch we head out north fo the parking lot on CR 316 to US 27 & Williston. CR 316 is a very nice ride and mixture of horse farms and tree canopied roads.

Then north on US 27 and quickly Alt. US 27 thru Chiefland where you take CR 345 south thru.......well nothing! It's a great ride thru forest and scrub of coastal florida. At SR 24 you enter what once was the town of Rosewood and the masacre site, see below.

A Documented History Of the Massacre which occured at Rosewood, Florida, in January 1923, was submitted to the Florida Board of Regents on December 22, 1993 from The Rosewood Report

Then on to Cedar Key and let the sunset watching party begin. A full day to say the least, but every minute fun to be on the scoots and with good people.
