This is another of our Sunday rides starting at the Thirsty Club in Redondo Beach. We ride this route in either direction and it is a different ride with the up hill down hill stretches reversed. I prefer it in this direction. We go up I 405/5 and exit Lake Hughes Rd and duck down to the Country Girl (on frontage road) for bathroom break and await stragglers. This a good place to make sure you've got gas, since the next station is ways. Lake Hughes Rd is a premier motorcycle road, following a gorge up through the mountains with tight to very tight turns. (If you're going down hill, watch your speed.) When you get to the top make a right and a couple of miles up the road on the left is the Rock Inn, good stop for lunch (BBQ Tri-Tip is my favorite). We continue along Elizabeth Lake Road to Bouquet Canyon where we head back down. About half way down you'll see the Big Oak Lodge (where Mike Tyson trained for his 'ear' fight) along with more than a couple of bikes. Another good bathroom break spot, guard against dehydration and await stragglers. As you reenter civilization in Santa Clarita, for can do a jog on 14th and make a final pit stop at the Rendezvous Lounge (more bikes out front) before we hit 14 to the I 5 and back to the Thirsty Club.
