Day 6 June 2008 Road Trip
- Distance: 201 miles / 323.5 km
- Ride Time: 1 day
- Approximate Fuel Costs: $15.28
- State: Oregon
The ride from Christmas Valley to Route 97 is notable because of the great scenery. The town of Silver Lake was 'interesting'.We had to enter Crater Lake NP from the south because the north entrance was closed due to snow. The views of this lake are absolutely breathtaking. We spent the night in Klamath Falls at the Super 8(clean and reasonable). Dinner was at Molly's across the street (truck stop fare but tasty).WX for the day was sunny but cool...brrrr!

Best Time to Go
If I was doing this ride, I would have turned off 97 at 138 and circled around to the South Entrance of Crater lake if the North entrance was closed. 138 is a fabulous, scenic road. If the rim of Crater Lake is open, ride the road clockwise.

The trip through Silver Lake, and Christmas Valley area's would have been better if you'd continued southeast and toured through Summer Lake, Paisley, Valley Falls and on down to Lakeview, Oregon than further east to Adel & Plush...we have the best scenery the country has to offer.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
