The first part of this ride is thru some of the best riding in NE Pasco & Southern Hernando Counties. If you think you are seeing a lot of Interstate, you are right, you will cross I-75 six times during this ride. all the while passing horse farms and cattle country.

WARNING! For those of you that do not like to leave the asphalt. While passing thru Croom Wildlife Management area and the Withlacoochee State Forest, there is a section about 6 miles long that is unpaved. It is a hard packed limerock surface that is smooth and easy to ride.

Nice canopied oak tree riding in the Floral City area. A good lunch stop is Shamrock's in Floral City, at the intersection of Great Oaks drive and CR 48.

You will parallel the Withlacoochee Trail as you head south on CR 39. Be sure to watch for the Istachata General store. Last time I rode this area I had a 4 point buck jump across the road about 10 feet in front of me, SO BE AWARE!!

Just a good day to spend with your scooter!!!

I've never tried this particular route, but I've ridden in the area many times. And, I've stopped at Sleepy Hollow a couple of times. Gotta say the area is a really nice riding area.

We took this ride an liked it so much that we have shared it with many friends. We are doing it again today with six bikes and some friends are doing it tomorrow with four others. The only deviation that we take is that we end at Sleepy Hollow restuarant via the back way in once we are in Floral City. It's easy to mapquest and Sleepy Hollow is a Yuppy Biker bar/restaurant with live music on the weekend and a steak dinner for $5.00. You can't beat it.

Go to Sleepy Hollow all the time, first time I ever heard it refered to as "Yuppie"!

5/14/10: FLcrayfish: Just went back thru turn by turn directions, don't see anything missing. You must of just missed one. Also these directions don't take you to Sleepy Hollow. Different ride route. Glad you had fun.

Did the ride turn by turn. Dirt road wasn't a big deal on our Wing. Back roads were great until we came to a T in the road. The directions lost us there. I think they need to be revamped. Thanks for the trip. Oh yea, almost forgot. We never made it to Sleepy hollow because of the wrong turn... But it was still a great trip from New Port Richey...
Keep the shiny side up !!!!!!

Rode this yesterday. You've provided a great route, as usual. The roads and scenery were fantastic. The little offroad section through Croom was a nice break and was easy to ride. Stopped at the Shamrock in Floral City. Huge burger, cold beer, good prices and friendly conversation. Thanks for the route.
