With the exception of riding over towards Cannon Falls, this follows a route I have ridden twice so far this year and will be doing again in September! Absolutely gorgeous!

This is a good route but if you're up for a longer ride it can easily be extended to go to LaCrosse, WI before crossing the river and heading north again, which is the route we took eons ago when I was in high school.

The route information was pretty accurate. being that this is my first "ride" this year i did not expect that the road conditions to be very good i was afraid that there would still be a lot of grit on them, but to my suprise there was very little. from the starting point the road conditions were fairly good nothing to bad...but nothing like a fresh coat...once you get on hwy 19 though you really have to be carefull ...and definatly no knee draggin!!...pot holes and divits and gouges everywhere ...there are curves...but keep your eyes on the road!...but remember hwy 19 is the last leg of the route... my suggesttion would be to continue past red wing and stay on the main road till hwy 52 VERY HILLY and road conditions are same as beginning of routes...jase the duc man wolff says ride safe and live fun...god bless

Don't miss some of the best kept secret roads on this route: The road between Vasa and Welch (off 19)is the best, georgeous valley with SUPER curves and great scenery. Watch for gravel and slower vehicles/deer/cows/cliffs.
Also when going north on 61, try taking 2 west from Frontenac, then right on 3 (you went to far if your in Bellchester), then right on 58? and stop at the hay creek bar.
