We were just out and about enjoying a beautiful fall day and came across this gem. The ride is ok, pretty slow through rural areas. Nothing real interesting. But, at the corner of 48 and 73 (about 500ft up 73) we found the Silver Spur Western Store. Spying a few other bikers that stopped there we thought we'd see what all the fuss is about. To our surprise we found that this place catered quite a bit to motorcyclists with a ton of Harley Davidson boots for about half of what you'd pay at the dealer and a lot of great leather riding gear for pretty cheap. If you're out and about, definitely stop by this place!

I can vouch for the description of the ride, especially through the Little Caesar State Park. My husband & I live in the quaint city of Waynesville and the ride through the park is very nice. Going down to the 'gorge' gets a little hairy a few times because the road is very winding and steep in many places; but the walking trails and scenery is worth it when you get there. The ride through and around the park area is filled with winding back roads and beautiful farmland. If you want to walk around for a little while, head to Waynesville where you'll find the largest number of antique shops in the mid-west. Also a great little ice cream shop right on main street. We were just at the western store last w/e and I can agree with the author's findings of great prices in the Silver Spur Western store (corner of 48/73).

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
