Although a long trip this makes a great day trip from Fredericton New Brunswick Following the Saint John River then cross country to the Moncton area then following the Acadian trail along the Northumberland Strait.Route 8 follows the Miramichi River famous for it's Atlantic salmon fishing. There is a good eatery in Pointe Sapin or if you prefer lobster there is a lobster pound in Escuminac that provides either cooked or live lobster at a reasonable rate.Along this route you will encounter little traffic except around the Moncton and Fredericton areas.

The fellow in front of the KLR is one of my riding buddies and the '07 c50 boulevard is my ride. The 2 lb lobsters were cooked at my buddies camp on the Miramichi River.
Although I have done this trip in 1 day if you have a place to overnight the trip is a lot more relaxing.
The Northumberland Strait stretch is rich with Acadian culture with french being the predominant language.English is spoken as well though so there is no problem with services in this area.
