This route starts out on just another Texas highway but as soon as you pass Sabinal the terrain changes and it's a pretty relaxing trip up to Leakey. Once you jump onto 337 you right away start going through twisties and Texas mountains as you work your way across to Medina. For one of the best views of the route stop at the pull off just 100 yards past the only Picnic area along 337 right before you get to Vanderpool going East, it's a breathtaking view of the valley below. One of the locals in Sabinal informed me that along with 337 if you were to combine that ride with 336 and 335 just Northwest of Leakey that it is quite possibly one of the best rides in Texas, these three roads are acually known as the Twisted Sisters. I would recommend you allow at least 6 hours and maybe even a day if you want to stop and eat and just enjoy yourself, it took me just over 4 hrs and that was with some stops for pictures and relaxing but no food.

It was a good relaxing and twistie ride. If I had more time I would have stopped and enjoyed more of the towns and stopoffs alongs the way.
