This is one of my favorite rides ANYWHERE!! For this ride you need to be mindful of frequent wildlife encounters anywhere along the route and use extreme caution. You will need to purchase a National Park pass for one day up to a full year for any national park. This route includes some very high mountain roads with extreme drop offs, however, it is all paved and traffic can be heavy at times. Logan pass in Glacier National Park is only open after the snow clears in the Spring, until fall. Summertime ride only. On this ride you are likely to see abundant white tail deer, perhaps elk or moose, grizzly or black bears, American bald eagles, coyotes, and an assortment of other smaller animals.
Fuel can be found in many places along the route except within the Park itself. Fuel up in West Glacier or Columbia Falls on the western portion of the ride, and St Marys or East Glacier on the East side of the ride.
In addition to this route, there are many off shoots that are just as awesome. Consider the north fork road on the West boundary of the Park to Polebridge MT. or the Many Glacier park entrance on the East boundary of the Park as well.
Again, and I cannot stress this enough, watch out for deer. Consider finishing your ride before dark as well. Deer, Deer, Deer.
