GR to Kazoo Scenic Route
- Distance: 52 miles / 83.7 km
- Ride Time:
- Approximate Fuel Costs: $3.95
- State: Michigan
This ride is a favorite afternoon route between the SE corner of the Grand Rapids Metro. It's an easy and scenic ride with plenty of fuel/convenience/rest stops along the way. The scenery is great and passes through Hastings which has a vibrant downtown and plenty of choices for a fast food lunch or a full menu restaurant. Being the Barry County Seat, it also boasts a picturesque court house in the city square.
Southeast of Hastings is where the scenery kicks up with farmland, and some easy curves around some of Barry County's many lakes. A little further down the road is the Gilmore Car Museum, the Blackhawk Bar and Grille, and the final resting place of Chief Noonday and some of his people. It's in an unlikely and unmarked location but a worthy detour if you can find it. The link above has more historical info on this influential chief, and the lat/long coordinates to help you find his grave.
This route ends at Sprinkle Road just past the Meijer store on the north end of Kalamazoo. The easiest route to I-94 from there is to turn left and follow Sprinkle. If you're looking for a Harley dealer, Perry H-D is on Sprinkle, just a couple of miles south of I-94. It will be on your left.
Enjoy and ride to live!

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
