This ride proved to be the perfect ride for a friend and me. We went in early September so the high tourist season was over. We started at High Desert Harley Davidson in Meridian ID. The first day took us to Arco ID, through Craters of the Moon National Park. The second day took us through Idaho Falls, up over the mountain pass at Victor and dropped into Jackson Wy. Honestly, the mountain pass was breathtaking. Day three began the major national parks. We started with Grand Teton, then went on to Yellowstone. There was time to stop at all of the famous monuments and attractions, but I honestly felt there was more to see beyond the 'touristy' Old Faithful. We ended the day in Gardiner MT. Day four took us up to Butte, MT which was a short road day. Day five had us passing through Missoula and ending at Lolo Hot Springs. The loding here was incredible, hot springs in the building. Day six had us passing through the Lewis and Clark Senic Byway which was a great river winding road. We passed through Hells Canyon National Recreation Area and ended the day in Riggins ID. On day seven we followed the border of Idaho and Oregon south, passing in to Oregon for lunch, then a straight shot back to Meridian ID to complete the trip. We had taken this trip easy and spread the miles out. The trip total was 1350 miles, and i think I took as many pictures.
