This was a four day trip. First night we stopped in Hannibal, MO. Second night was in Paducah, KY. Third night we stayed in Harrisburg, IL. We averaged around 315 miles per day. It was a nice easy pace which left a lot of time for sightseeing and such.

Being from Kentucky I have been biking on a lot of the roads on this trip. Land Between Lakes is a great ride, lots to see if you have the time. I have also taken the Lake Michigan Circle tour, which I really liked because you were on the water most of the ride.Lots of things to do on the west side of Michigan, This was my all time favorite ride.

My friend and I just got back from this ride and I highly recommend it. On day 1, instead of crossing IL on 88, we took Rt 34, which was more relaxing and interesting. The ride south along the river (on the west side) was spectacular and perfect for biking -- not many cars, lots of great curves, and a combination of river views and forest. On day 2, the ride through the land between the lakes at Kentucky Lake was particularly enjoyable. We stopped at the dam, and also at a historic settlement called "The Homeplace". There was much more to see on this island, but we didn't have the time to see it all. I definitely would consider going back again. Heading back north, we went through numerous small towns, each with their own interesting character and history. Crossed the Ohio river by ferry on Rt 91 and headed home. Last year we took the Lake Michigan Circle Tour and we both thought this ride was much better.
