This is a great half day ride. It takes you from the dessert to the mountains. It is also a technical ride you start with a short freeway ride then you turn off and start climbing up Mt.Rose Hwy. It gets twisty going up the mountain but it is worth it the views are spectacular. When you get to the top you start coming down the hill and wind down to the Tahoe basin. You then can turn right or left and enjoy a trip around the lake. There are so many great restaurant to stop at along the way. I would recommend packing a jacket because it can get a little chilly even during the summer months. If you take your time it will take at least 6 hours to go completely around the lake. I have managed to do it in 4 but i did not stop on that trip.

Gorgeous road. Fantastic scenery, loads of twisties. West side of the lake is a bit slow with all the tourist traffic, but if you;ve never been here before its all good.
