Start on Indiana 135/46 south/east out of Nashville, In. Take 135 around Brown Brown County Park, worth a visit if never there. Go south to hwy 58, go east on 58 to 446, go north on 446 to IND 46, go east on 46 back into Nashville. MANY GREAT SIDE TRIPS, good place to stop at Monroe Resevoir about 3 miles north of where you cross the resevoir. Best route to Nashville from Indy, take 37 south to 144, 144 east to 135 then south to Nashville. From Interstate 65 take hwy 46 west to Nashville. Avoid fall during leave change as it's bumper to bumper for many many miles around Nashville. Nasville has several good restraunts and lots of 'tourist shopping stores' and art stuff. This is some of the curviest roadway in Indiana, good cruseing at 30-40 mph.

I was planning to ride Brown County but had no idea what roads to take. I found this website last night and rode this route today. It was definitely beautiful. The only drawback was that there was still a lot of green left but that is due to the strange weather that we've had this year. I do recommend that tenderloin!!! The name of the restaurant was The Hitchin Post. My wife and I split one and couldn't finish it. Thanks for the info on the tenderloin, Geezerglide!

I plan to ride some more of these routes listed on here next year.

5 stars because it's probably the best route in Indiana (our state is not known for great motorcycling roads). For a whole new experience, try the route in reverse. Also, if coming from Indy, try S.R. 37 south to S.R. 252 east in Martinsville. Ride east to Morgantown and go south on S.R. 135. This will take you right into downtown Nashville where you can start the route and go either direction since it's a loop. Two stops I highly recommend are:

1.) a little diner (name unknown, but it's the only one)in a little town called Norman Station on S.R. 58. Try the HUGE tenderloin sandwich!

2.) the Story Inn on S.R. 135 in Story. Neat little place that hasn't changed much since it's demise during the Great Depression. It's an old general store that's been renovated into a nice little B&B with a restaurant and a cool bar in the basement. During the summer months on the weekends, you can sit outside, enjoy a beverage, and listen to live music.

Fall is bumper-to -bumper traffic as stated, but try a weekday... it's virtually deserted!

All in all, an excellent route and highly recommended! I've ridden numerous times and it never gets old.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
