Set aside a day for this if you don't stray too far off the Hwy 7. I rode this route in 2004 heading to the Sturgis Rally and again 2006 while heading to Billings, Mt. for the National HOG Rally. Will ride it any time I can get close. Neither time did I get to spend the night in Hot Springs, but that is what I suggest. Start out first thing in the morning riding thru the Quachita Mountains, then you get a little break as you pass thru Russelville, although the scenery stays good. Leaving Russelville you once again get after it in the Ozark National forest. Stop and spend the night in Branson, Mo. see some live shows, listen to music. This is one of the best days you can spend.

My next rtip that way I plan to spend the night in both city's!

Also as any road with twisty's, stay on your side. I didn't on my 2006 trip. I was concentrating too much on my mirror for the five bikes following me and crossed the centerline in front of a car! No I didn't hit it, I veered hard left across the front and dropped down an embankment. MY FAULT!! Rode my 2004 Road King Custom out of the wash, bent back the fenders, checked the tires and rode on to Montana. A testiment to how well built those Harley's are.

Have fun!!! BE Safe!!! Mostly all good roads, but it is in the mountains in a state where temperature varies. Asphalt expands and contracts making for patches.

Great ride, the most scenic route between SW MO and Hot Springs. Take your time and enjoy the ride. There are a lot of good side trips to take off this route. I enjoy riding over to Mountain View Arkansas for the music and entertainment. It is not commercialized and more down to earth hometown folks.

There are probably more exciting smaller roads in these mountains, and I will let you know when I ride them!

7 is a great ride for almost the entire length of Arkansas but particularly north of Hot Springs. It's ,generally, more open, with frequent wide sweepers than many of the other, smaller routes in the state, so ideal for those on cruisers. That being said, there are some tight turns here and there so be on the lookout! Beautiful scenery and great road surface. Make sure sure to stop at The Cliff House, just south of Jasper, for excellent food and views!

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
