This is one of the best roads in Missouri for scenery and curves...before leaving from Hannibal check out the paddle boats and the Mark Twain bridge from both in town and then from Lovers Leap (an excellent photo op) When you are ready to go head to 3rd street and follow it out of town on Hwy 79 south....the road starts off a little slow but then starts hitting big sweepers along the river and railroad tracks for some more great scenerey but soon heads up into 3 seperate mountains (ok hills) Nothing here a new rider can't handle but use caution on the hills, perfect conditioned roads allow you to really take in the views of the valleys below while enjoying the twisties on 3 seperate hill climbs and then it's back down to the valley floor and along the Missouri river through some farmland and into Louisiana Missouri (there are some mad little twisties as you are entering the town so watch for them and the sportbikers that race up and down on the weekends)

Even though I live in western Missouri, this is one of my favorite roads. Have to watch for those deer though.

This is a great ride. Would have gotten five of five stars, but two of those little towns on the route had their police out stopping everyone for five miles over. Seriously, a town with a population of 32 (less than the 35 m.p.h. speed limit) has a cop sitting in it??
