After nearly 20 years, we've decided to close our doors on August 11th and pursue our next grand adventure. The growth of this site and community surpassed our wildest expectations. This route takes you through several of Minnesota's State Parks and runs along the North Shore. The route then backtracks to take Highway 1 through forest of pine into Ely- beware moose crossing the road on 1. From Ely you travel south through another State Park and along lakes and forest to return to Central Minnesota. There are plenty of rest stops and gas is available- fill up before you hit highway 1 to Ely. There are lots of places to overnight or camp if you prefer. This route is heavily traveled in August when the weather in MN is the best.

I rode this in July- it is my route, but wanted to add some feedback; the ride was excellent- great views. The ride to Ely on HWY 1 from the North Shore is full of twisties and hardly any traffic; in 60 miles I saw only three cars- watch for deer and other critters on the road. Kate Willmore
