The run from Kalispell on Us Hwy 2w to the turn off on to McKillop creek road (NF-535), is good going. Note: Top up for fuel at Happy's Inn if you need fuel, there's no fuel until Yaak. NF-535 is a paved road but is rough in places. MT Hwy 37 is a great ride along the eastern side of Lake Koocanusa, and see lots of motorcycle traffic in the summer. From the west end of the Koocacusa Bridge the route is back on NF-228 Forest Service roads to Yaak, it's paved but again is rough in places. There is one place for gas and a couple places to eat in Yaak. Depart Yaak on NF-68 to Libby, MT. Libby is a fair sized town so lots of places to refuel, eat or stop for the night. The return to Kalispell is along Us Hwy 2. This is a 280 mile loop, with great chances to see wildlife, (deer, moose , bear, elk) so drive aware, there can also be areas of open range, so watch for livestock on the the roads also.
