Every rider knows about Lolo Pass/US 12 in Idaho, right? It's THAT place, the one with the sign that says there will be curves for the next 77 miles. Well, IDOT is not kidding! If you like curves, then US12 is probably the best place west of Deals Gap to find 'em. This ride is not only more curvaceous than Dolly Parton, it's also more beautiful than Shania Twain (Yeah, I like my country music!) The last time I was on this road, in 2005, there were some western sections showing some wear as the wheel tracks were rather deep and with more tar showing than rock chips. It was VERY slippery in the rain. The majority of the road, however was in excellent condition. This road can also carry a significant traffic load with plenty of semis and motorhomes who will creep over the center line on the curves so it's best to play it safe. Also, be aware that the IHP apparently makes a lot of money on this road as they seem to always be out in force.

This is a spectacular ride. Did it about 7 years ago and headed back that way in June.

Lolo is a nice easy ride. The highway is excellent with wide shoulders. The scenery is spectaular and the ride along the river is absolutly beautiful.
Services are limited so be sure you have a full load of fuel. There are several places for lunch stops for those so inclined. A great way to get to Lewiston then ride up the ID.chimney.
Have done it two of the last three years on rides from CO. to Canada.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
