This is an all day ride if you stop and take in some of the scenic riverside views on river road between 306 and 46. There is one point where you cross the river on a cement bridge that has about a 2 inches deep river water running over it. Follow the path of the car tires (blackened concrete in color) to avoid the slippery algae. A bike in front of us flipped out from under the rider due to the algae BE CAREFUL! It if wasn't for seeing him fall we wouldn've made the same mistake. I would recommend stopping on the road, getting off of your bike and checking it out before you cross. (see photo) If you're on river road you'll eventually come to it and will know what I'm talking about when you get there. The rest of the ride is great!

Bee Creek road off of Hwy 71 to lake Travis is a nice hilly, twisty ride through a semi residential area.

The area through Hallettsville to Shiner is great. Stop off at Janak's Smokehouse a mile or so west of Hallettsville on the right on your way to Shiner for a nice sandwich, and get their JERKY. Then drive to Shiner and stop off at the Shiner Brewery. Nice trip.

The best of the best. These folks have ridden and shared more roads than any other ORJ member this month.
